4/11/2022 – Easter Thoughts
I love Easter dinners, and I love Easter Egg Hunts even more. But the most important thing about Easter is Christ’s atonement for us, and His resurrection—both of which cleared our path for coming back to Him and to our Heavenly Father.
Those who lived before Christ’s birth looked forward to His coming. Jacob 4:4 “For this intent have we written these things, that they may know that we knew of Christ, and we had a hope of his glory many hundred years before his coming; and not only we ourselves had a hope of his glory, but also all the holy prophets which were before us.”
And those prophets who lived after Christ’s time on earth tell us over and over again to remember Him, for He has already borne “the iniquity of us all” (Isaiah 53:6) IF we simply petition Him, and work-- with His help-- in a lifetime effort to keep His commandments, and frequently remind ourselves that we now know that “in Christ shall all be made alive” (1 Corinthians 15:22) – that promise covers every single person who has ever lived on the earth. When we finish our “schooling” here on earth, we will go back to our Father’s home. My goal is to work my hardest to live up to His commandments, and do so with gracious love for all those around me. Life is so much happier when we draw close to Christ and our Father and the Holy Ghost, and as we learn how to care for, and truly love those around us.
