Old Testament - Psalm 46 - August 13, 2022

 8/13/2022 – Psalm 46

I read this psalm and am reminded to “be not afraid—even in the tumults of the Last Days.  This psalm can help us remember the Lord’s love and caring for us: “God is our refuge and strength. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea. Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake…” (v’s 1-3)

V 10 “Be still and know that I am God.”  Sometimes our search for the Lord needs to be conducted away from our worldly demands, concerns, and pace. The Lord used this same sentence in D&C 101:16 for people in our time: “Therefore, let your hearts be comforted concerning Zion; for all flesh is in mine hands; be still and know that I am God.”  As we come nearer to Him, He comes nearer to us!  I have felt this & when I am not trying to be near to Him, I have felt His presence fade. It didn’t take me long to realize that going through life WITH Him brings peace and happiness into my life.
