Old Testament - Micah 4-5 - November 25, 2022
11/25/2022 – Micah 4-5
Chapters 4 & 5 are full of prophecies that will come to the Israelites at a later time.
Chapter 4’s synopsis: In the last days, the temple shall be built, Israel shall gather to it, the Millennial era will commence, and the Lord will reign in Zion.” In v 1 he tells us that in the last days…the house of the Lord shall be established in the top of the mountains…and people shall flow unto it…” I only have to look out my window and see many temples in the mountains here. People do flow to it as v 1 said—for now we can’t just drop-in to do temple work, we need to make a reservation! And now President Nelson is telling us that new chapels will not be built until the standing chapels are used by 4 different wards. They want to take the money that would have build more chapels, so they can build more temples. It will be very interesting when they announce a temple in Jerusalem!
One other hint that we have not yet reached the ‘latter days’ is found in 3 saying that there will be now wars and people “shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks…” He also promises He will feed His flock. In v 13 the Lord promises that for Zion, “I will make thy hoofs brass,…I will consecrate their gain unto the lord, and their substance unto the Lord of the whole earth.” The Lord gives us all messages of hope in the last days for there will be peace for the Lord’s people in the Millennium.
In chapter 5 He prophecies about things that will happen much sooner than the Millennium, and that is that the Messiah shall be born in Bethlehem.
We are told that there will be much travail…but He will be there if we seek Him. He tells us that also in the last days the remnant of Jacob (Israel) would triumph over its oppressors.” And He warns us to not be involved in witchcrafts, or with graven images, or in creating groves of trees where the wicked Israelites had worship idols and fallen away from God.
